I have just watched a documentary charting the final days of Christy Hennessy on R.T.E. In it Christy reflects on his career and on his life both in and out of music.

Christy died on the 11^th of December 2007 in a London hospice at the age of 62. He died from mesothelioma, a form of cancer caused by his exposure to asbestos on the building sites in London.

The gentleness and the optimism of the man impressed me.

Rest in Peace Christy.
