Bare faced liar Bertie!

Bertie - the bare faced liar!

Bertie - brazen, brash, a bollix!

I have to acknowledge that he did a lot for the country. But, he has to acknowledge that all that counts for nothing because of his wheeling and dealing. He is nothing but a common crook.

If he was in any other job he’d be gone long go. Arrogance on his part allowed him to survive longer than he should have. Complaceny and lack of moral etiquette of his party colleagues and Government partners also contributed to his holding on. (PD’s and Greens - enjoy it …. next time out you’ll not be heard of again!)

And then comes Cowen ….. What a great mug to have showcasing our country! Going by his bullish behaviour in the Dáil he’ll be no better!

Micheál Martin T.D. - A cute Cork hoor outfoxed by Bertie!

Micheál Martin T.D.

Micheál Martin has ruled himself out of the race to become the next leader of Fianna Fáil.

He declared his support for Brian Cowen to replace Bertie Ahern as leader of the Fianna Fáil party while praising his former boss on RTE’s ‘Morning Ireland’.

Sorry Micheál ….. Bertie ruled you out of the position years ago when he moved you into the Health portfolio.

You were getting too popular as Minister for Education …. Education was on a high …. Bertie got worried ….. moved you to Health …. you made a mess of that portfolio. You’ve been on the periphery of power since.

There was a time when you’d have made a credible Taoiseach …. but thanks to Bertie’s games you’ve lost more than your hair as a result!

Lap up to Cowen ….. you’ll be alright then!

Oscar Wilde - Irish playwright, novelist, poet and author

Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)

Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)

Oscar Wilde took a libel case against the Marquess of Queensberry (famous for the ‘Marquess of Queensberry rules’ associated with boxing). The Marquess had accussed Wilde of being a sodomite.

The case opened on the 3rd of April 1895 but was withdrawn shortly afterwards. Unfortunately, for Wilde, it led to him being charged and convicted of gross indecency.

Wilde received a sentence of two years’ hard labour.

Wilde wrote the poem ‘The Ballad of Reading Gaol‘ after his release from prison.
