Forgive the tongue twister of a post title but I felt I had to comment on the National Emergency Plan document that’s currently winging its way around the country.

Grandad has spoken about the stupidity of its contents already so I’ll comment on the circular from the DES (Department of Education and Science) that came to my school a few years back advising telling us to have an emegency plan in place in the event of a local or national disaster.

The first step in the creation of an emergency plan was to consult with the local Gardaí. They hadn’t a clue what we were talking about but they said they’d get back to us.
