If I won the lotto I would resign from my job immediately.
Let’s say I won enough to live comfortably without having to worry about earning to survive what would I do with myself?

Limerick people may not agree with the sentiment expressed in the video.
It does, however, have a little tinge of truth to it!

Education Minister Mary Hanafin has admitted that there are no procedures in place to check the backgrounds of as many as 1,000 untrained substitute teachers in primary and secondary schools.
She said that it was up to each board of management to satisfy itself that a particular individual was considered suitable for appointment.

Last year the Teaching Council registered all Irish teachers (primary and secondary) en masse. There was no fee involved. We had to sign a declaration of our details, return it, and, voila we were registered free gratis for the year.
This year, however, the Teaching Council wrote to us, and, in no uncertain terms warned us that we would be struck off the register if we didn’t pay the new €90 annual fee and return our details promptly.
If we let our registration lapse, Áine Lawlor, the Director of the Teaching Council, warned us that state funds would no longer be used to pay us and our salaries would be cut off and we would also have to go through the whole process of registering again.

Today (the 19th of April) is the third anniversary of Joseph Ratzinger becoming Pope Benedict XVI.
He is fulfilling his duty as caretaker Pope well!
Good man Herr Ratzinger.
