Happy birthday Coca Cola!

Coca Cola first saw the light of day on the 8th of May 1886.
It was invented by a chemist called John Stith (Styth) Pemberton.
Some Coca Cola facts:
- The original drink was based on a wine
- When prohibition was introduced in 1886 the wine was replaced with sugar syrup
- Coca Cola contained up to 60mg of cocaine until 1904
- Coke still contains an extract of the coca leaf (from which cocaine comes from - not to be confused with the cacao plant which is the basis for chocolate) but there are no drugs in it!
- The Chairman of the Coca Cola Company is E. Neville Isdell, an Irish man!

I reckon I am contributing a nice bit of cash to the Coca Cola coffers.
Between Coca Cola, Lucozade and Budweiser I do try to do my bit for the economy!

Coca Cola, Lucozade and Budweiser
What is your sugar intake like
At a healthily high level Grannymar.
My fridge has two large bottles of coke and one large bottle of Lucozade in it.
I have a little milk in there for a quick cup of coffee in the morning before I go to school.
There isn’t one item of food in the house other than a container with Rice Crispies in it. had to throw out the top half on Monday …. it has gone soft!
I had a nice dinner this evening courtesy of my sister …. bacon, cabbage and potatoes.
Yes … I know …. cholesterol, unhealthy etc.
I’ll go on as long as I can …. I take my eating habits one meal/snack/take away at a time … I’m terrible at planning a shop for the week.
The fridge has two levels of containment … either empty or full.
I could go to the shop …. buy lots …. and end up throwing a lot of it out …. now I don’t even bother doing that.
I eat some toast in school in the morning. We start officially at 9.20 a.m. but I’m usually in by 8.30 a.m. so I eat as I go do my pre-opening routines in the morning. I sup on endless teas/coffees during the day. Again…. lunch can be a feast or a famine … and is usually grabbed while doing something else or while on yard (supervision) duty.
