Doctors predicted that my mother would die within a month/two months .... she survived about 5 months. Life is hard to understand. I heard a sad story today at the nursing home. A resident in her mid-90's decided about four weeks ago that she'd had enough of life. Her room mate of many years had died a few weeks earlier and Alice (name changed) now wants 'out' too so she gave up eating entirely. She is still very much alive today, existing on nothing but water. Alice doesn't even look unwell either. Makes you wonder doesn't it? They were obviously made of strong stuff in her day!
