It’s the start of the Mid-Term break and myself and the father are off to Carlow to visit my sister and her husband for the weekend.

    Hope you have a nice week end. When you come back, some food for thought.

    Have you noticed something odd in all the budgets drawn up by democracies? They are usually drawn up by bureaucrats as the politicians would not know how to any way. Never a suggestion of reducing expenses on salaries and pensions and benefits for the bureaucrats nor their families, and also the politicians who have ‘served’ the country! They will always look to cut expenses on development activities. If you carefully study your budget, I haven’t but I am hazarding an educated guess, more than half the expenditure will be on running the government, defense and interest on borrowed funds. Am I right?
