Scrabbled by Grannymar – A to Z of life

Grannymar had another one of her ideas.
She came up with the idea of associating each letter of the alphabet with some aspect of her life. She challenged her readers to do the same. I decided to accept her challenge!
The A to Z of Paddy Bloggit’s life (thus far)
A ~ Animals – I have great respect for them.
B ~ Books, books, books – I love reading fiction. Unfortunately, I don’t have as much time anymore.
another B ~ Budweiser – my drink of choice.
C ~ Chinese Takeaway – my local ‘cousins’. My kitchen has never cooked a meal in its life.
another C ~ Cottage in a hidden valley …. my ideal location, just me, my dogs and self-sufficiency.
another C ~ Cremation …. part of my ‘arrangements’ …. still haven’t decided what I’d like done with my ashes!
another C ~ Church …. not part of my life anymore.
another C ~ Christmas …. used to be my favourite time of the year when I was young but not anymore.
another C ~ Corruption …. has brought a bad taste to our country.
D ~ Dogs – I love my dogs. They’re great company, loyal and non-judgemental.
E ~ Errors and Omissions Excepted ….. You take me as you get me. If you ain’t happy with that …. good luck to you!
F ~ Fags – I used to smoke but not anymore.
another F ~ Father …. I’m grateful to him for all he has done for me.
another F ~ Fools ….. I don’t suffer fools gladly.
G ~ Garden and Garage – my distractions!
H ~ Home is my refuge; planned and made into a reality by me.
another H ~ Handyman ….. that’s me!
I ~ Irish – a love/hate relationship. It’s not working in our education system … only place it does work is in Gaelscoileanna where it’s a living language …. but when the pupils move on they usually move on to an English medium secondary school …. the language loses its ‘life’. I have disdain for the ‘Fanatical Gaelgóirs’ … they kill the language.
J ~ Junk – I don’t collect it. I like to be organised. Junk/Rubbish etc. is gotten rid of straight away.
K ~ Kerry – I love the mountains, the scenery and the freedom it brings.
L ~ Laptop – I’d save it first if there was a fire!
M ~ Mother - the most influential person in my life. She died 5 years ago.
another M ~ Millionaire …. something I’ll never be (unless I win the lotto) …. I haven’t got that money making philosophy. €20 or €200 in my pocket … I make do!
another M ~ Meanness …. I hate it. I like doing good deeds anonymously. More money … I could do more ‘deeds’ with it.
N ~ Nephews – the closest thing that I’ve got to family.
O ~ Ordinary – that’s me, no pretentiousness,
P ~ Principalship, Policies and Paperwork the bane of my life (sometimes but more times now than ever before).
another P ~ Politicians – I have disdain for them also ….. having seen first hand how they screw around with schools and the education of children.
Q ~ Questioning – something I am always doing.
R ~ Retirement – roll on – If I last til my mid-fifties in teaching I’ll be doing good.
S ~ Self-employed … my desire …. but what to do? Cut lawns? Walk dogs?
T ~ Teaching – My life, my career, my cross, – sometimes fun, sometimes not.
another T ~ I’m a good Time keeper.
U ~ Understanding the universe evades me.
V ~ Value - If it cost me €1 or €1,000 I still seem to treat everything the same way. My new best shoes could end up being part of my painting gear!
W ~ Wardrobe – hasn’t got much in it, I dress down usually and live in jeans and t-shirts
another W ~ Word – I respect people who have a word.
X ~ X-Box never took my fancy.
Y ~ Yearning – for more of the ’simple life’ rather than the ‘rat race’ life I’m in.
Z ~ Zodiac – I don’t believe in it.
That’s it Grannymar ……………. all done!

Thanks Paddy you certainly put plenty of effort into this one. I learn more about you every day.
Well done, Paddy – impressive effort! 10/10
Are you for real about never cooking a meal in your kitchen? I thought Grannymar would hound you for that!
I can highly recommend her recipes!
Absolutely …. most I’ve ever done is a pizza in the oven or zapped with the microwave.
I have an extractor fan ….. but I haven’t put in a vent yet … I never had the need.
Guess I was spoiled when my mother was alive …
Paddy if you learn to cook, Steph & I will come to dinner.
I can cook Grannymar …. however,
I have more excuses but they’ll do!
Paddy – no more excuses Tut! Tut!
You don’t know what you’re missing. Grannymar’s recipes are really easy to follow. You just mix-it-all-together, bung it in the oven while you sit down for a drink and ‘bingo’ you’ve got a scrumptious meal that beats any take-away. You’ll even have enough left over for several more servings.
And Grannymar’s offering you her services for free!
And …. will Grannymar cook also?
Excuse me! I am listening
Cooking for one – tell me about it
Negotiations for my ‘services’ must take place in person
Yes Granny …..
