Sir Bobby Robson dies ~ the end of an era
Sport rarely gets a look in here ….. but it does today.
Bobby Robson died today at the age of 76.
He was a former international soccer player, a former manager and he was a ‘consultant’ for the Republic of Ireland team in 2006/2007.
Steve Staunton needed guidance and Bobby was it.
I don’t think this worked too well as Bobby had been suffering from ill-health around that time.
Anyways, no amount of ‘guidance or consulting’ could have saved Staunton’s skin!
I digress.
I just want to acknowledge Sir Bobby’s achievements and that he may rest in peace.
R.I.P. Bobby.

Paddy baby . .you really have to stop dwelling on these eulogies. . .I mean these are worthy people of rememberance but you’re getting a tad morbid here. They lived full and fortunate lives. Celebrate that.
A lot of sense in what you say Baino … but the history buff in me always marvels at past achievements of people.
I’ll not suffer from any derangements because old Bobby has departed his mortal coils … just thought it no harm to say goodbye to him and wish him well on his (merry) way.
As Bobby himself put it:
“I am going to die sooner rather than later. But then everyone has to go some time, and I have enjoyed every minute.”
but I will try to tone down the obituaries ….
I heard that on the radio early this morning, and said to myself “Blogpost from Paddy B today so!”
Hey boyo the site was slow to load today. Must be the orange yoke at the bottom…. no not me!
